Nexsen Pruet to Host Panel Discussion on Doing Business in Latin America

Nexsen Pruet will host a luncheon and panel discussion entitled “Doing Business in a Changing Latin America: Trends, Challenges and Opportunities” on Friday, Oct. 24, at the Renaissance Charleston Hotel, 68 Meeting St.

Moderating the event will be former Ambassador Edward B. O’Donnell, Jr., who is currently the director of international business development for the American Business Development Group. O’Donnell served as Senior Negotiator at the U.S. Mission to the Organization of American States, as Special Envoy for Holocaust Issues, and as Acting Ambassador and Deputy Chief of Mission in Panama.  He has three decades of experience promoting trade and investment between the United States and Latin America.

Members of the panel include Jorge Cervantes, Mexico City; Renato Stetner, São Paulo, Brazil; Bernardo Rodriguez, Bogotá, Colombia; Juan Tagle, Santiago, Chile; and Eduardo Benavides, Lima, Peru.  All are lawyers with extensive backgrounds in areas such as international trade, foreign investments, tourism, banking and finance, telecommunications, and economic development.

Joining Nexsen Pruet in hosting the event is Mackrell International, a network of leading law firms throughout the world. Nexsen Pruet, the organization’s member for the Carolinas, is also hosting Mackrell’s Americas Regional Conference in Charleston Oct. 24-26.  The conference is bringing to Charleston 45 international lawyers from nine countries in the Americas, 20 states in the United States, as well as England, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, and Japan.

The luncheon begins at noon Oct. 24, with the panel discussion to follow.
