John Hardaway Chairs International Meeting July 1, 2008
John B. Hardaway, III, a Member (partner) in Nexsen Pruet’s Greenville office, served as program Chair for the U.S. Section of Fédération Internationale des Conseils en Propriété Industrielle (FICPI) meeting in Charleston, S.C. Approximately 100 representatives from the U.S., U.K., Canada, Mexico and China participated in continuing education sessions from June 3-6, 2008 that covered international intellectual property rights.
FICPI is an organization working for the interests of patent and trademark professionals worldwide, with members in 86 countries. Mr. Hardaway is the Chairman-Elect of the U.S. Section of FICPI.
Hardaway concentrates his practice in IP and international law. He has served as president of the Patent, Trademark and Copyright Law Association of the Carolinas; chaired the Japanese Patent Office Liaison Council of the U.S. Bar; and chaired the American International Property Law Association’s IP Practice in Japan Committee.
He earned his undergraduate degree from Clemson, a Master of Science degree in ceramic engineering from Iowa State University, and his law degree from the University of Tennessee.
