John B. “Jack” Taylor has extensive experience in all areas of construction law, including arbitration and mediation.

Throughout his career, Mr. Taylor has represented owners, contractors and subcontractors on a number of large, complex projects including hospitals, sports arenas, airports, power plants and correctional institutions. Additionally, he has been counsel for contractors and subcontractors in connection with several multimillion-dollar highway claims against the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

He has authored or co-authored publications that include North Carolina Construction Law, NC Law for Design Professionals, Construction Management/Design-Build in North Carolina, Construction Law for Attorneys in North Carolina, Handbook of North Carolina Construction Law and North Carolina Highway Claims.

Mr. Taylor earned his engineering degree from North Carolina State University and his law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law. He also served in the U.S. Army as a captain in field artillery.

  • On-Call Neutral Arbitrator for expedited resolution of potential design/construction disputes between the Owner of a $200,000,000 Sports Arena and its resident NBA team.
  • Counsel for a contractor regarding its pending $2,680,641 delay, disruption and extra work claim against the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
  • Counsel for contractors and subcontractors in connection with several multi-million dollar highway claims against the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
